All Stars Project of Dallas Honors HilltopSecurities for Commitment to Developing Dallas’ Inner-City Youth
The All Stars Project of Dallas presented HilltopSecurities with the Nothing Can Stop Us, We’re All the Way Up Award in recognition of the firm’s commitment to developing Dallas’ inner-city youth.
The organization presented the award at its annual Developing Dallas Youth Benefit on Monday, April 16, in Dallas, Texas. The evening's proceeds benefit the All Stars Project of Dallas’ leadership programs: the All Stars Talent Show Network, the Development School for Youth and Cops & Kids. HilltopSecurities also served as one of the event’s leadership sponsors.
“Dallas has been our base of operations for more than 70 years. In that time, the city and its residents have played an important part in the growth and success of our company,” said HilltopSecurities Chief Human Resources Officer Shawn Ward. “Because of this, we make it a point to support local charities, schools and organizations that invest in the future of Dallas and its people.”
The education and development of Dallas’ youth has long been a focus for HilltopSecurities. Through its internship program, the firm has participated in the All Stars Project’s core program, the Development School for Youth (DSY). DSY partners with local business leaders to coordinate afterschool development workshops and internships to train young people (ages 16 to 21) to perform as professionals.
HilltopSecurities recently hosted the program’s participants for an active listening training program at its headquarters and, in the past two years, has hired five summer interns through DSY. The firm plans to hire three more this summer. HilltopSecurities’ internship program has also worked with the Mayor’s Intern Fellows Program of Dallas, the Leadership Experience and Employment Program and the Urban Fellows Summer Internship Program.
