The Bond Buyer Names HilltopSecurities Director Kayla MacEwen a 2018 Rising Star

DALLAS, October 1, 2018 – The Bond Buyer recently named Hilltop Securities Inc.’s (HTS) Public Finance Director Kayla MacEwen among its 2018 Rising Stars.

The program, now in its third year, honors municipal finance professionals under the age of 40 who have demonstrated strong leadership and innovative thinking to the betterment of the communities they serve.

“We could not be happier for Kayla. She has always been a star to HilltopSecurities,” said HilltopSecurities Vice Chairman and Head of Public Finance David Medanich. “Her creative thinking and dedication to her clients have made her a strong banker in the municipal finance industry as a whole. Kayla is representative of the young talent we have at HilltopSecurities and we are fortunate to have her as part of our team.”

Ms. MacEwen joined HilltopSecurities’ Public Finance division in 2007 as an analyst in New York City, serving in various roles until becoming a director in April 2017. In her work with the firm’s Northeast banking team, she’s served as co-lead banker on various nationwide transactions and sectors including state and local governments, transportation, utility, housing, higher education and student loans, as well as unconventional transactions such as stadium and pension bond financings.

Ms. MacEwen is the firm’s third consecutive banker to be included in The Bond Buyer’s Rising Stars program; Directors Joel Tindal and Marti Shew were also named Rising Stars in 2017 and 2016, respectively.
