About Walter Kunisch
Walter Kunisch joined HilltopSecurities in 2021 as the Senior Strategist for the commodities business group. Kunisch works in a collaborative capacity with the wealth management platform and various investment banking teams where he provides internal and external clients quantitative and qualitative expertise on a diverse range of global commodity related topics. Prior to joining HilltopSecurities, Kunisch worked in analytical, trading, and portfolio management roles. He has a unique 360 degree view of the global commodity sector that includes working at hedge funds, multi-national commodity merchants, and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) where he analyzed biofuels and renewable energy. Kunisch holds master’s degrees in Economics, with a focus in Quantitative Finance, and in International Political Economy with a concentration in Emerging Market Economics/Finance from Fordham University.
